These Terms of Use (“Terms”) govern your use of the LocalScribe app (“the app”), developed by Secure and Alert (“we”, “our”, “us”). By downloading or using the app, you agree to these Terms. If you don’t agree, don’t use the app.
LocalScribe records audio, transcribes it on-device, and produces AI-generated summaries. Recording and transcription run entirely on your device; an optional Premium tier can generate richer summaries using a third-party AI service. Features may change, improve, or be removed over time.
You are solely responsible for how you use LocalScribe to record people. Laws on recording conversations vary by country, state, and context, and some require the consent of everyone being recorded. You must comply with all laws that apply to you and obtain any consent the law requires before recording. We provide a recording tool; we do not provide legal advice and are not responsible for recordings you make.
Transcripts and summaries are generated automatically and may contain errors, omissions, or inaccuracies. Always review them against the original recording before relying on them.
LocalScribe’s output is not professional advice. Summary styles intended for specialized fields — including clinical, legal, and behavioral-health note formats — produce drafts only. They are starting points for a qualified, licensed professional to review, correct, and approve. They are not, and must not be used as, a finished record, diagnosis, or legal document.
Your recordings, transcripts, summaries, and notes are yours. We claim no ownership of them and, as described in our Privacy Policy, we have no access to them. You are responsible for the content you record and for backing it up.
You agree not to use the app to break the law, to record people without any consent the law requires, to infringe others’ rights, or to attempt to disrupt, reverse-engineer, or abuse the app or its backend.
The app is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, express or implied, to the fullest extent permitted by law. We do not warrant that the app will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that transcripts and summaries will be accurate or complete.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Secure and Alert is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for any loss of data, arising from your use of the app. Because your data is stored on your own device and in your own iCloud, keeping backups is your responsibility.
We may update these Terms. The current version always lives at this page, with the date above. Continued use of the app after a change means you accept the updated Terms.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules.
